Regarding Samick build: I've always liked it. Here's my mental picture to describe what position 3 sounds like - are you ready for this? - if you pick up a handful of gravel and through HARD it against a cynder block wall and THAT could somehow make a sound where you could hear every pebble make a sound like a guitar string to create a guitar chord, that's what it sounds like. The neck PUP is my least used PUP however the clean is really nice. I put SD Phat Cats P-90's in there, and now I just can't get enough of this guitar going straight into my Peavey Classic 30. The PUP's in my Royale semi-hollow were Duncan-Design and did a pretty good job. Since I love to modify (as much as my budget allows), I don't mind buy a good-playing axe with less-than-great PUP's. Both played nicely, but the PUP's are candidates for swapping. I have played the MB's and the LP copies. What actually got me started on Samicks are the older ones (pre-Greg Bennett).
